We aimed to bring the art ecosystem into the digital realm by developing a comprehensive platform that simplifies buying and selling artwork for artists, collectors, and galleries. To achieve this, we built a system that supports primary and secondary market sales, featuring artwork management, verification, seamless transactions, as well as private viewings and offers.

Once limited to galleries and guarded networks in the physical world, the art discovery process has now been made more accessible through dedicated website spaces for artists and galleries. With curated selections and local highlights, we facilitate a seamless exploration experience that fosters community and enhances art discovery.

From details about the artist to its exact measurements, an artwork is accompanied by numerous tedious details and documents that need careful documentation. A central repository where all such information can be stored was hence, the need of the hour. We created a streamlined artwork uploader, and organised information into intuitive sections like details, images, and origin to ensure easy navigation. The uploader also serves as a central repository for all artwork documents, simplifying management for artists, galleries, and collectors while maintaining scalability for future needs.

Art comes in many shapes and sizes. When it comes to uploading said art online, we needed to find a way to ensure consistent and visually appealing displays through a standardised template. To keep the focus on the artwork, we adopted a simple yet premium design language, avoiding loud colours, and allowing the art to take centre stage.

We designed an intuitive product details page to accommodate the multiple buying methods that Asign provides while maintaining a clean layout with distinct sections to avoid confusion. Our scalable design also integrates online auctions and ensures secure transactions, while a smart royalty system guarantees artists earn from secondary sales, fostering trust between creators and buyers.

Asign not only unites members of the art community but also verifies them, ensuring that both artists and collectors can connect with trusted sources. Piracy and duplication pose significant challenges for artists, while collectors hesitate to buy from unverified sources due to the risk of counterfeit artworks. To address these concerns and foster trust, a robust system was introduced where every artwork undergoes a thorough verification process post which it is awarded an Asign Protect+ tag.
